FAQs

Is Wildcat Fitness affiliated with the University of New Hampshire?

No. Wildcat Fitness is an independently owned entity. One of the co-owners is an alumna of the UNH Whittemore School of Business and Economics. Most of the employees at Wildcat Fitness are UNH students. The name “Wildcat Fitness” is meant to embrace the unique characteristics of Durham as a college town.

Is the facility geared more towards residents or students

Both. We welcome all members of the community who want to exercise and achieve better health. Our business model recognizes and strives to accommodate our diverse community through special features such as freezing membership rates for the summer while students and residents are away.

Are there family packages available?

Not at this time. The low monthly per person membership fee is applied on a per person basis. Our Full Access membership allows you to bring a guest whenever you workout.

Is childcare available?

Not at this time.

Do you expect the facility to be overcrowded?

The long hours of operation were designed to allow maximum accessibility and convenience to our members so everyone can exercise at will. If members are waiting to exercise and there are no comparable machines available, a 30 minute time limit will be enforced.

If the contract is month-to-month, why is there an annual fee?

The annual fee allows Wildcat Fitness to keep its monthly fee at an affordable price. It also provides the resources required to consistently upgrade the facility and equipment while providing excellent service.

What insurance plans will subsidize the Wildcat Fitness membership fee?

Those members belonging to Anthem Blue Shield have the option of exercising at their preferred fitness club and receiving membership fee reimbursement as long as they obtain a signature verifying Anthem Blue Shield’s required number of workouts per month. Please contact Anthem Blue Shield to verify your plan’s rules and restrictions.

Members who are employees of the University System of New Hampshire and subscribers to Harvard Pilgrim will have their monthly membership fees covered as long as they work out at least 8 times during a calendar month. Harvard Pilgrim subscribers are responsible for checking the log provided at the front counter to ensure accuracy in recording their workouts. USNH Harvard Pilgrim subscribers will have the $45 rate guarantee fee waived. The annual fee of $25 will be billed directly to USNH Harvard subscribers.

If you belong to a different insurance company that requires contact by Wildcat Fitness to apply for membership reimbursement benefits, please provide the information to the general manager.

How do I cancel my membership?

You can stop by the front desk and sign a cancellation form or you can send us a registered letter. You must cancel by the 1st of the month to stop your billing on the 15th. Since it is month to month billing there are no fees. Cancellations via email and/or phone are NOT acceptable and MUST be in person or by registered letter only
