Redder than Cranberry Sauce

Burrrrrrr it’s getting cold outside!  Wear your high socks and pants and get your buns moving!  Don’t let day lights savings make you fall behind in your exercise and healthy lifestyle.

Keep up an active lifestyle in and outdoors and don’t let your nose get redder than Thanksgiving day cranberry sauce!  Here’s a recipe for homemade cranberry sauce to get you on your feet and keep your nose not red!


  • 1 pound (4 cups) fresh cranberries
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 whole orange, unpeeled, seeds removed, and chopped fine
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Sprinkle ground cinnamon



Wash cranberries and set aside.

Bring sugar and water to a boil. Add cranberries, oranges, and cloves. Simmer over a high flame, stirring frequently, until berries pop open. Add crushed pineapple, walnuts, and cinnamon, and blend. Cool and serve. (cover and refrigerate if preparing a day in advance)
